Social Security eligability transition

If a student is eligible for SS for their disability when they are a child, becoming an adult does not change this disability or its ramifications for the person. When a child with a disability on SS turns 18 they have to reapply for assistance and often times are denied. They then have to go through appeals processes and sometimes get an attorney involved. These children were already determined to have a disability and now that they had a birthday those benefits are taken away. This is detrimental to the person and their family. It is ridiculous that one day can change you from having a disability to not having one. This needs to change.
